STRAND conducted static stress analysis using hand calculation methods, on the following structures:
Underslung Lifting Hook - installation into airframe
Side panels (port/s’bd) - analysis of shear webs.
Nose cap - composite structure analysis
Engine bay - engine firewall assembly
Outer plating - stressing of stringers and intercostals
Sliding cowl support structure
Wire strike cutter - design calculation review
Main U/C attachment to fuselage
Air to air refuelling probe - analysis of structural provisions required for installation
Cabin/cockpit trim - stressing attachments and brackets
Systems
STRAND conducted static analysis, using hand calculation methods on the following systems installations:
FLIR - pod installation to fuselage
Consoles - analysis of impact of console on mounting
Floatation device - bag and bottle installation on fuselage
Sonobuoy - Installation
Antennae - Omni antennae installation / Mission antennae install in nose / Main cabin antennae install
Cold Air Unit - Installation in floor structure
Battery bay - general structure
Avionics bay - analysis of pulley winch including support structure relating to the motor. Avionics cabinet to floor panel connections.
Lower forward fuselage skinning installations - impact of installed systems on skin assembly.
ECS - mounting/support structure
Air intake frame - firewall mounting
